Origin

Acacia Analytics began in 2016 when Kang Dongwook, formerly a financial reporting specialist at a Gyeongsangnam-do manufacturing group, noticed that audit committees received anomaly summaries as spreadsheets nobody opened before meetings. He opened a small studio on Jinju-ro 2-gil to produce chart folios that matched how directors actually reviewed risk—on paper, around a table, with time to ask questions.

The studio grew through referrals from internal audit departments at regional banks and municipal procurement offices. We deliberately remained a visualization practice rather than expanding into investigation or legal advisory. Our charts flag patterns; your team decides what to pursue.

Who works here

Four analysts and one production coordinator staff the Jinju studio. Each analyst holds experience in financial reporting, internal audit support, or statistical charting. None of us sell software licenses or maintain client dashboards—we deliver files and, when requested, present them in person.

Working approach

Every engagement starts with a scoping conversation about anomaly definitions, not about technology stack. We ask which transaction fields matter, what thresholds your committee already uses, and how the charts will be consumed—projected, printed, or circulated as PDF.

Charts follow a consistent visual grammar: brass-gold for flagged clusters, oxidized green for explained outliers, charcoal backgrounds for projection contrast. This grammar is documented in our methodology page so that returning clients recognize the legend across engagements.

Relationship to clients

We treat ledger data as confidential material held only for the engagement duration. Files are transferred through agreed secure channels and deleted from our working storage after delivery unless a retainer specifies otherwise. Clients retain full ownership of delivered chart files.
